MediLink Teleline Provides Access to Medical Consultation
during The Buddha's Birthday and Labour Day Holiday
The Hong Kong Medical Association MediLink toll-free teleline sponsored by Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited, will be in operation again to provide information about access to medical consultation during the 3-day The Buddha's Birthday and Labour Day Holiday from 29th April 2001 to 1st May 2001.
The MediLink teleline operates in 3 languages: Cantonese, Putonghua and English. Members of the public can access the MediLink teleline by phoning to obtain the telephone numbers of doctors who will provide medical consultations during the holiday. Doctors' information provided by the MediLink are grouped into 18 geographic districts. Callers can choose their preferred districts as instructed. The MediLink teleline information can also be obtained from the HKMA web site at http://www.hkma.org.
For the Easter Holidays, a total of 136 private medical practitioners, 11 Department of Health clinics, and 4 private hospital outpatient departments registered with the MediLink, offering medical consultation services.
The MediLink teleline was first launched in December 1995 with Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited's sponsorship.
